The french language distinction

The French language is a member of the romance language and is widely spoken by 70 million people worldwide as the first language but mainly in France. The French language is currently the first language in other countries like Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and some French and Belgian colonies in parts of Africa. For French language learners, there are noticeable distinctive features that this language possesses. There is the distinct sound of the letter r and the nasal vowels. There are three accents present on the French vowels. First is the acute (ґ) which is found above the letter e, followed by the grave (ˋ) over the letters a and e, and lastly, the circumflex (€) over the entire set of vowels (a, e,i, o,u). These accents over the vowels allow the reader or the speaker to give emphasis to a word and the idea how it is pronounced correctly. It also serves the purpose in distinguishing the homonyms and even the indication when a letter should be discarded from a word. Another distinct French signal is when the letter ‘c’ has a cedilla underneath it. When this is the case, the letter ‘c’ (з) is pronounced with the ‘s’ sound. On other occasions, when the letter ‘c’ appears as it is in a French sentence, it is pronounced as ‘k’ followed by vowels a, o, u or another consonant, but this rule changes to letter ‘s’ again when followed by vowels ‘e’ and ‘i’. Don’t be fooled by how a French word is spelled using Romance letters since it isn’t a reliable source in attempt to pronounce a French word. The French language has many silent letters which includes the final consonants s and x. But the good thing about the French spelling is that it can be easily identified how it is pronounce because of the accents on the letters. The French spelling is even closer to how it is pronounced than the English.

Some assembly required

Is the Law Of Attraction not working for you? There has been a lot of information put out about the Law Of Attraction recently. I firmly believe in the Law Of Attraction. The proof of it has shown up in my life too often for me to NOT believe in it. However, there is one thing that is not mentioned in most of the material out there. There is always some assembly required. The basic law of attraction states that whatever I focus on will show up in my life in one form or another. It just might not show up in the form that I was expecting. The MEANS for getting whatever I want in life will always show up for me. It will be up to me to recognize those means as they show up for me. From there, it will be up to me to use those means in order to get what I want in life. If I want a loaf of bread, it WILL show up for me. I just might not recognize it. I can not expect it so just show up in a puff of smoke. The means to have a loaf of bread WILL show up for me. What WILL show up for me will be some flour, some yeast, some water and whatever else it takes to make that loaf of bread. From there it is up to me to combine all of the ingredients and bake them for a while. The loaf of bread was just sitting there waiting for me. I just needed to recognize it and put it together. Some assembly required. What if I want a new car? I can't just expect someone to come up and give me a new car. The MEANS for getting a new car will show up for me I might get offered a side job where I can make enough money to get that new car. I might get offered a job that comes with a company car. I need to be open to whatever means show up for me and then make use of those means as they show up. I need to do MY part. Some assembly required. What do you want to show up in your life? Do you want more money? Do you want to travel? Do you want a new house? Whatever you want, the means to get it WILL show up for you if you focus on it. Are you open to whatever form the means show up as? It might come in a form that you don't expect. From there, are you willing to take the steps needed in order to have whatever you want in life? It WILL show up for you. The Law Of Attraction NEVER fails. But, you've got to remember. Some assembly required.

Your last resort stop smoking pill

As we always see on cigarette packs, "Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health." This is a notice that is commonly disregarded by smokers. Without even reading this notice, they just tear open the cigarette pack, grab a stick, and light it as if they don’t want to see the glaring truth in front of it. Unfortunately, the warning stated on this package is very true. Cigarette smoking is one of the leading causes of death. As a matter of fact, 440,000 people in the United States die each year because of illnesses caused by this bad habit. Fortunately, a lot of people have become aware of what smoking can do to their health and have made attempts to quit. Unfortunately, because of a substance called nicotine that is found in cigarettes, many people find it difficult to resist their cravings for the “high” that this substance can give. The good news is that there are now aids for smokers who want to quit. They can try chewing a nicotine gum or putting on a nicotine patch. These are two of the types of nicotine replacement therapy wherein the craving for the pleasurable feelings is quenched by the content of these gums and patches, taking away the need for a stick of cigarette. But, since this method is not always effective, a new option has been added: the stop smoking pill. A New Use for an Anti-depressant Zyban is a stop smoking pill that causes a sustained release of bupropion hydrochloride, the same substance found in the anti-depressant, Wellbutrin SR. This stop smoking pill boosts the levels of dopamine and norepinephrine in the body, giving the user the same pleasurable feeling that is induced by the nicotine found in tobacco. These pills should be taken a week before a smoker starts to quit smoking in order to combat the withdrawal symptoms that usually haunt quitters. Although Zyban is more effective than other anti-depressants in this aspect, it has some side effects that doctors should warn their patients about before prescribing this solution. It has been proven to cause depression in users and can increase suicidal tendencies. The New Stop Smoking Pill Another stop smoking pill was approved by the FDA last May. Varenicline was proven to help more than one out of five smokers to stop smoking after using it for a year. This pill works by inhibiting the feelings of pleasure that smokers feel when they light up a cigarette. This stops them from associating the wonderful feeling with a stick of cigarette that they usually crave for when they are under stress, cutting off their dependency to it. Now available under the name of Chantix, this drug should be taken twice a day for a minimum of twelve weeks in order to stop a person from lighting up a cigarette. A side effect of this stop smoking pill is said to be nausea and vomiting. Because of the side effects that can be caused by these two stop smoking pills, they are usually considered as a last resort for people who would like to quit smoking. And for those who plan to use Zyban to quit smoking, perhaps it should be coupled with exercise in order to decrease the dependency on that medication. Exercise, after all, can hasten the release of epinephrine and norepinephrine in the body, giving a person the same high feeling that these pills can provide.

Experience hypnosis without going to a hypnotherapist

If you would like to get an amazing experience of hypnosis without going to a hypnotherapist to get it, you are now able to download our hypnotherapy audios, which have been written and are presented by a qualified hypnotherapist, with relaxing music playing in the background. The hypnosis audios are recordings of the hypnosis scripts with which they appear on the People Building website. Our free hypnosis audio is made up of a hypnotic induction scripts called “Body relaxation induction” and a deepener called “relaxing Inner self for Healing” It is just over half an hour long and forms the basis for all of our other hypnosis downloads which can be purchased from the site. In all of our other Hypnosis audio downloads, those two particular scripts are used as the induction and deepener, and are then followed by the substance of whatever particular area of improvement you need to focus on. Therefore, by downloading our free Hypnosis audio, you will be training your mind on how to go into trance, so that when you are ready to deal with some of the bigger issues you would like to improve, your system will then be used to hearing that same hypnotic music, voice and words and know that it is now time to go into a trance. The free hypnosis download can be downloaded and listened to from your computer, or from itunes and downloaded onto your ipod. Simply look up People Building from your itunes store and select the hypnosis podcast. Of course, by using a hypnosis download, you may not be able to solve all of the issues you are hoping to, because the information is generic and has not been created especially for you and your problems. That is why you can request an audio to be created to meet your specific needs. If you think that there is a audio on the site which may be appropriate, but you are unsure, you could buy the hypnosis script first to read the content of it. For some problems, there are additional resources available. For example, for those wishing to stop smoking, we have a quit smoking e-book, called “freedom from smoking the NLP way.” This ebook contains hints, tips and activities to help you make the transition from a smoker to a non smoker and offers a money back guarantee. The cost of the book is roughly equivalent to the cost of 3 packets of cigarettes so just think about how much you could save in the long run. On the subject of savings, if it’s our hypnosis scripts that you are interested in, in particular, you will be pleased to know that we offer meaty discounts to those who want to purchase lots of hypnosis scripts, rather than buying them individually. There are, at last count over 60 hypnosis scripts on our website. The cost of buying them all would be around $180.00 (roughly Ј90.00) This is why we offer saving of up to $60.00 (roughly Ј30.00) for buying collections of our hypnotherapy scripts.

The spiritual power of quiting

When you’re faced with an insoluble problem do you ever think of quitting? I’m not talking about “That’s it! I quit,” as a general approach to life. I’m talking about something more profound. If you’re like me, you were raised never to quit. You were trained to push on, regardless of the odds, and finish everything you started. If you couldn’t fix a situation, you’d live with it, no matter how it hurt. I was raised in a family with favorites and not-favorites, good guys and bad. Roles could switch fast; you had to hustle to keep out of trouble. The roles I chose were “favorite” and “good.” I went through school and did very well, got good jobs, pleased my bosses and generally excelled. I never realized that my life was about playing roles, avoiding the pain of rejection. Liberation occurs in wondrous and uncomfortable ways. After finishing my master’s in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, I did an internship at a treatment center for runaway adolescents. It was a rough place serving disturbed kids and their families. One day, I took a call from an upset parent, handling it according to protocol. When I came back the next day, the phone rang. The same parent was on the line, far more upset. Her child had run away from the center––and she blamed me. Our first conversation had been difficult––this time she lobbed verbal grenades while I tried to dodge. She roasted me. When the bombardment was over, I had a profound realization: I would never win with her. I couldn’t say, “I’m Sandy Nathan. I’ve gotten straight A’s forever, I’m a superstar. Give me a chance.” No. I was dog excrement to her and would be eternally. It was shocking––I couldn’t win, no matter how hard I tried. I also understood why her kid ran away. In a hopeless situation, running away is an intelligent choice. Since then, I’ve learned that the deep knowing that, “I am never going to win here,” is a gift. It comes after I’ve applied every skill and remedy I possess and is a signal to begin withdrawal. Many spiritual teachers talk about “the power of letting go.” My meditation teacher used to say, “Freedom follows renunciation.” When you formally reject or disavow something, you become free. When I say, “I quit!” I refer to the same concepts. Quitting has two primary steps. First, the mental, “This is no good for me. I quit.” And you walk away, inside at least. Second, the exit strategy. If you’re making a big life change, it may take years to complete your plan. If you walk away from that poisonous situation, your rent or mortgage payments will not change. You need to have a way of covering your expenses lined up before you physically leave. If you’re in an abusive situation, you need to make sure that you’re safe before you leave. Do your homework. Your connection to the Divine is the most important thing in successful quitting. That connection will sustain you while you go through the physical adjustments and mental permutations of making a major life change. A regimen of spiritual practice is essential. Prayer, meditation, positive thought, giving to your source of spiritual support and living a disciplined life are important while you’re getting ready. They’re crucial when you make your move. Know that you are free, even as you take the first baby steps out of the toxic dump. Keep going and you will have a new life.

The alexander technique fibromyalgia cfs end gaining tension release and the four concepts of good use part 2

Society has made remarkable medical and scientific advances over the last few hundred years, but there are still many serious diseases that continue to baffle doctors and scientists. Indeed, many "diseases of modern society" are reaching epidemic proportions. These include backache, neck and shoulder pain, arthritis and spinal diseases, asthma and auto-immune conditions, depression, neuroses and insomnia. At the very apex of "diseases of modern society", come 6 million diagnoses of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome in the US alone. The answer to many if not all of these diseases will never be found in a laboratory. Numerous drugs come and go from the market every year dashing sufferers hopes on the rocks of corporate America The answer of course is to be found in the very way we live our lives, and this is why I employ the Alexander Technique as an adjunctive strategy to my core techniques as a key part of my Fibromyalgia and CFS recovery plan. Alexander's Technique can restore free choice to peoples' lives, free from the tensions and worries that we impose largely upon ourselves. Alexander describes his view of the process of decline: "We live in supposedly the most advanced, civilized, democratic and technological society on the planet yet the lack of "real" happiness manifested by most adults is due to the fact that they are experiencing a continually degrading and dysfunctional use of their "psycho physical" selves. This deterioration is a manifestation of our personality traits, flaws and temperament. These characteristics of badly coordinated people, struggling through life burdened with maladjustments, combine together and generate conditions of irritation and pressure which are self perpetuating." Alexander coined this theory as his definition of "Unhappiness" To put this in Layman's terms, as our psychological state deteriorates our physical state begins to mirror it and so the stage is set for an episode of Fibromyalgia and CFS, or any another chronic condition. How we move is a mirror of our emotional state. If you need evidence of this phenomenon, examine the movement of a person who is in the first throes of love and compare it to a person on their way to work on a Monday morning to do a job they do not like. As we grow through childhood into adults, our natural happy state is replaced by fear; fear of failure, rejection, and financial fears. At first the fear is only psychological but slowly it infiltrates into our very muscular and skeletal makeup. Controlled by the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), is our fear reflex, often referred to as "fight or flight". It is of course no coincidence that the ANS is a key system, implicated by recent developments in Fibromyalgia and CFS science, and the focus of a great deal of my therapy. The ANS had already been under so much stress that when you were subjected to your particular "trigger infection", this system collapsed and you became one of the unfortunate people who go on to develop Fibromyalgia and CFS. In individuals who become victims of Fibromyalgia and CFS, the fear reflex is often so strong that their tension becomes habitual, particularly in the neck and shoulders, and begins to stretch and pull the body into a distorted posture which slowly becomes fixed. If you need evidence of the power of the fear reflex do this exercise; next time you go to work, take the busiest most congested, unpleasant route; Note how you feel on getting into the car at home, note how you feel when you hit the congestion and note how you feel in your head, neck and shoulders when you finally get out of the car at the other end. On another day take a quiet country road to work and see how you feel when you get there, compare and contrast. In my article on CFS, Fibromyalgia and the Stress Spiral, I wrote about the particular characteristics of Fibromyalgia and CFS sufferers, how they were often ambitious, go getters, highly stressed individuals with little time to spend examining their psychological, emotional condition. Fascinatingly 60 years ago, Alexander expressed his belief that as human beings most of our modern diseases and syndromes have occurred because as a race of people we have become so goal oriented, all that ever matters is the result, never how we get there. Alexander referred to human beings as "a race of End Gainers", By adopting the "End Gain" philosophy we are unwittingly wearing out our bodies, but as has now become even more prevalent we have actually even managed to wear out the planet. What a legacy to pass onto our children. Alexander actually commented before his death that unless we stop and think about the consequences of our actions we would not only destroy ourselves with muscular tension, but we would actually destroy our very species at a global level. One has only to read the news regarding what we have done to the climate and our natural resources to see how apt his words have become. Alexander's legacy was to leave us with the option to use the reason, choice and common sense that we are given as children. Unfortunately, due to societal pressure to conform we usually decline this option at the first possible opportunity, imitating the behaviour and examples of others instead of doing what we know and feel is right. As children we are forced to conform, we are taught to be afraid of being different. We learn to fear being unique and individual, at a time when we should be promoting such qualities. By following the Alexander Technique we can reprogram our consciousness and choose the manner in which we live our lives. • We can choose to experience stress in a different way. • We can choose to follow the herd in terms of how we sit, work, eat and drive, OR NOT. • We can choose how much tension we will allow in our head, neck, shoulders and back that are contributing and exacerbating our Fibromyalgia and CFS symptoms. • We can choose to inhibit spontaneous reactions and learn to let go. At the very hearts of Alexanders' techniques are the four concepts of good use: The end result of an Alexander lesson is an efficient easy use of the body, but the procedure that a student must go through is essentially a mental one and these articles can assist in preparing you for this journey. We have all been told at some point to stand up straight; we instinctively pull our shoulders back and try to force our spine into a rigid column, but we will then notice how this leads to a very uncomfortable muscle tension after only a few minutes. Alexander noticed this too in his acting work and he spent years developing four basic concepts which lie at the heart of the Alexander Technique. The first two are aimed at the head neck and torso and the second two are aimed at the legs and shoulders. By applying these concepts you will feel your neck and shoulder muscles becoming less tense and your back becoming longer and your hip joints becoming freer. The four concepts go like this: 1. Allow your neck to release so that your head can balance forward and up. 2. Allow your torso to release into length and width. 3. Allow your legs to release away from your pelvis. 4. Allow your shoulders to release out to the sides. Note a common thread running through all the concepts...RELEASE!! "Release" is essential particularly to Fibromyalgia sufferers in order to break the tension cycle which can bring on and maintain a "trigger point attack". Unnecessary tension in skeletal muscles can set the stage for pain and injury to other structures of the back such as the ligaments and joints. By "release" we mean asking your muscles only to work just as hard as they have to in order to perform the task you set for them. Practice releasing muscles: Many people at first find consciously releasing muscles rather more difficult than it sounds. In parts 3 and 4 of this series we examine closely with examples exactly how to "release" and also define it more accurately. I will outline how to practice and experience the 4 concepts in real life with examples. I will also talk about "Inhibition" which can be considered Alexanders 5th and most important concept, essential to the technique.

Is opportunity knocking at your door right now

Bill Gates is quoted as saying "there has never been a time like the present, with so many opportunities". It's almost like the California gold rush, only its so much bigger, because of the global reach of the Internet and other global technologies. The possibilities are endless. Everybody is "looking" for opportunities, but very see it and even fewer exploit it. There's the now famous story of the two men who visited India together. Upon their arrival in India one of the men was so struck and rather appalled by the abject poverty of the masses. His companion however, saw something else. He saw an opportunity, an opportunity to shoe millions of feet and make himself a fortune in the process. This man is said to have gone on and established a shoe company which produced millions of shoes and made him a very wealthy man. There are thousands of other similar stories, of people who turned what seemed to be somebody's problem into a fortune, including the story of South African born Hotel magnate Sol Kerzner. Kerzner turned an Island in the Bahamas which was considered only good enough to be used as a rubbish dump, into what is today known as the resort Island, Atlantis. Opportunities come disguised in many forms and shapes. They may come disguised as hard work, hardships, difficulties and obstacles. When you see them as opportunities and take them, who knows where you may end up? Consider this: You may say I'm not going to knock on that door, because I don't like knocking on doors. The person opening that door may give you the big break you have been looking for, but you may just have missed it forever. After allhow could you have guessed? That's right! You couldn't have. Ever heard someone say, "It was a blessing in disguise"? There are opportunities to make money, opportunities for happiness but there are also opportunities for personal growth. Opportunities to discover what you are capable of, to turn weaknesses into strengths. Oportunities to help others and help yourself in the process. There are opportunities to bless and be blessed in return. Do you see all these opportunities? And if you do, do you take them? Or are you like those people who are only looking for that one big opportunity that will turn you into an instant millionaire. Sun Tzu puts it so eloquently when he says, "opportunities multiply as they are seized". People who disregard all other opportunity, while waiting for that one big opportunity don't know what they are missing. They may in fact be missing the big opportunity itself, because you never know where every opportunity may take you, if you embrace it. However there's one thing I know, won't get you anywhere. And that is sitting in your comfort chair, trying to figure out which is opportunity and which is not. So, here is my advice, try everything and test everything. So what, if you failed or if things didn't work out. You have would have learned at least one thing. That particular venture isn't worthwhile or the method doesn't work. Don't allow your own cynicism or that of other people rob you of what may potentially be your biggest and best opportunity.

Lack of time perception or reality

One day you're going to college, studying and having fun; the next thing you know you’re working long hours, eating on the run, rushing home to take care of your kids or your spouse/significant other. Where does the time go? Managing time means more than managing your life against the clock. It means taking time to look at the priorities that you say are important to you. How many times do you say “I don’t have time?” Are you really saying “that is not my priority” Think about it? We are always telling others and ourselves “I would if I had the time.” We think we have no choices about how we spend our time. Technology that was supposed to make life easier has actually done the opposite and is eating away at our personal time. Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), computers, email, cell phones and pagers all compete for our attention. Electronic organizers and communication devices create an “on-call” work mentality that takes priority over personal responsibilities. Lack of time is more perception than reality. The problem is the lack of commitment to your priorities after you’ve set them. People overwork, set time to watch television and surf the Internet, but many people don’t set time to do the things that they say are important to them; for example; exercise, interacting with family or just spending time clearing your mind and doing something you enjoy. In one of my previous articles, “Wellness After 30: Getting The Most Out of Later Life”, I talked about the importance of taking a closer look at how you spend your time on an average day; writing down your daily activities to find opportunities to include things you might not have known existed. In order to free up some of the time you spend watching television, you may want to record the TV shows you enjoy watching, and when you play them back, fast forward through the commercials. You will gain 12 minutes of personal time for every hour of TV you watch. Don’t be forced to follow programming schedules. Watch fewer shows but take the time to enjoy the ones you do see. Try limiting your time surfing the internet to one hour per day. Analyze the total number of hours you are spending at work versus how productive you really are on an average day. Time is finite: 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day and 7 days a week. You can’t save it, but you can waste it. The amount of time we have does not matter, but rather the way we use it. Life can change in an instant so it’s important to make the most of what we have. Make time for what’s important to you: connecting with others, working in a career you’re passionate about, being proactive about your health by being physically active. Here are five steps you can take right now to get started. 1. Establish priorities that are truly important to you. If your life is already full of things to do and you have no more time to add anything else, which is the case for most people. What do you do? Well you definitely don’t want to add anything to an already full plate. You must take some things away in order to free up time. If I examined your life right now, would I be able to see what’s really important to you? Ask yourself what’s working, what’s not working and what could be better. 2. Re-evaluate your priorities using your time the way you really want. As a mom, I have an ongoing struggle to get my children to realize that as they get older I need them to be accountable for the things that are within their capacity to handle, so that I can have more time for what I want to do. I have easily done this in every other aspect of my life, but this particular area is not so easy. I work consistently to get to what I really want in this area of my life everyday. Take an inventory of your life; Are there areas of your life that need your attention, energy and resources? Look at the people that are in your life and assess why they are there. Do they fuel you or drain you? 3. Make time for yourself. Make yourself number one as a priority. Spend your time and energy on things that bring you joy and make decisions based on what you want instead of what others want. Practice excellent self-care. Focus on yourself in order to strengthen your balance, well-being and quality of life. 4. Set boundaries around your life. Say “no” with respect when you already have a full plate. Don’t let your guilt talk you into saying yes. Explain to others that in order to honor your priorities you cannot add anything else right now. You can reschedule or just decide that it does not contribute to your overall priorities. Learn your limits. We don’t say “no” frequently enough and we end up paying a price. For example, your best friend asks you to go to the mall today, your son has soccer practice, your daughter has violin lessons and your spouse/significant other is working late. What do you do? You can tell your best friend that you have to reschedule the mall trip for another day in order to honor your priorities. 5. Time is a gift. If you found out today that you had 30 days left to live. What would become important to you? You shouldn’t wait for a message like that to live your life to the fullest. Spend your precious time right now being alive and enjoying your life fulfilling your purpose on this earth everyday. Now that you’ve freed up some time, create an action plan and set goals to achieve what you say is important to you at this very moment.
